On February 5, another group of students from the same university including Messrs. Hossein Torkashvand, Majid Tavakoli, Esmail Salmanpour and Vahid Daneshyar, were arrested by agents of the MOIS and transferred to Ward 209 of Tehran’s Evin prison. These students are currently on hunger strike in protest against their detention.
Messrs. Tavakoli and Qasaban who are among students expelled from the Polytechnic University had previously served 15 months of intolerable prison terms in Evin prison and were recently bailed out by paying large sums.
The Iranian Resistance calls on all international human rights organizations and student unions to condemn brutal suppression of students and to adopt urgent measures to release those detained in recent days.
