Iran : Preparing for a widespread crackdown on universities’ faculties and students

NCRI – The mullahs’ regime is planning for a widespread crackdown on the students and faculty members in universities. On Wednesday, “A number of the Independent Students at Health and Human Services University during the examinations period were summoned to the school’s Disciplinary Committee,” the state-run news agency ISNA reported. It quoted students as saying, “[The Committee] issued probation orders for some students.”

Simultaneously, the paramilitary Bassij’s site at Poly Technique University of Tehran posted some names and particulars of the students calling them “hooligans.” The students that the site is referring to are those who protested to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s visit to the university and teared apart his pictures before his eyes on December 11, 2006.

The Iranian Resistance calls on all international human rights organizations as well as students unions to condemn the suppressive measures by the regime against the Iranian students.
