Iran: Oil industry employees charged with insulting Khamenei, contacting PMOI

NCRI – The Iranian regime has pressed heavy charges against three detained long time employees of oil industry and set heavy bails to prevent their release and justify their arbitrary arrests.

The agents of Iranian regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) detained Bandar Abbas employees Mohsen Zebardast, 44, Abbas Hassanpour, 34, and Vahab Moqadassei, 32, on December 14, 2012 and took them  to central prison in city of Bandar Abbas.  The Iranian regime’s henchmen transferred the  three labor activists to solitary confinement, put them under pressures and tortures in order to force them to make fabricated confessions.

Clerical regime’s prosecutor general charged Mohsen Zebardast with “acting against the security of the system through propaganda, insulting the leader, and having contact with the People’s Mojahedin Oraganization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).” Heavy bail of 50 million Tomans was set for him.

Vahab Moqadassei and Abbas Hassanpour were also charged with “acting against the security of the system through propaganda, insulting the leader, and advocating separation of religion and state” Bail of 20 million Tomans were set for each of them. Iranian regime has set heavy bails for the three employees in order to continue to keep them in detention.

In recent months, the Iranian regime has intensified repressive measures against Iranian workers to prevent the growing workers’ protest.

During the past few months, Sattar Beheshti, a blogger and worker in Tehran, and Jamil Soveidi, a worker in Ahvaz were killed under torture shortly after detention. Another worker Reza Shahabi from Tehran Bus Company, who has been imprisoned for more than a year is on the verge of getting paralyzed for being deprived of medical care.
