NCRI – Iranian regime’s deputy chief of police, Asghar Jafari, said on Sunday: “Police is ready to carry out hand amputation to deal with robberies,” state-run news agency reported.

He expressed his dissatisfaction that mullahs’ penal code, concerning “amputation of hand as the most important [article] is not being enforced.” He added: ”Evading to carry out these sentences is the main reason why these crimes are not uprooted in the country,” and “this is followed by escalation of insecurity  in the country.”

"If God's punishment is carried out in the country, more than 90 percent of crimes related to robberies will not happen and this is in the interest of country’s security and the credibility of the Islamic Republic of Iran," he added.

By admitting to the regime’s appalling record in human rights and its standing in the world public opinion, he criticized those who opposed public implementation of these kinds of sentences who did not considered it to be in the interest of the regime and said: “No matter how much we withhold from our Shariat laws and principles, our practices are not going to be approved by the international community, particularly the West.”

Iranian Resistance calls on all international human rights organizations, particularly the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and working group on torture, to denounce implementation of these savage punishments. It also calls for referral of the regime’s human rights dossier to the UN Security Council for adoption of binding measures to stop the criminal trend in Iran.
