Iran: State Security Forces attack women prison in Shahr-e-rey

NCRI – A number of Iranian regime’s repressive State Security Forces and prison authorities attacked a section of a women prison in the Shahr-e-ray, located in Greater Tehran metropolitan area, harshly beating prisoners on Sunday.

Some 240 female prisoners are being held in this 190 m2 (square meters) section of the prison including Reyaneh Jabbari, a defenseless women who has been sentenced to death for the death of an agent of the Iranian regime’s intelligence who had tried to assault her.

The repressive forces closed access to the prison yard and cut off all telephone lines.

A henchman in charge of prison at nights, Asghar Kolivand, personally attacked and injured prisoners using a belt. Two other prison authorities, named Mohammad Mohammdzadeh and Tatar, attacked the prisoners using batons, electric shockers and belts.

The women in charge of the prison, Sima Pourmand was also personally involved in the brutal attack on defenseless women prisoners.

The Iranian Resistance calls on all international organizations and bodies in defense of human rights and particularly those protecting women’s rights to condemn the brutal attack.

The Iranian Resistance reiterates that the shameless silence and inaction on the part of Western governments on the Iranian regime’s brutal April 17 attack on political prisoners in Ward 350 of Tehran’s Evin prison has emboldened the clerical regime’s authorities in other prisons in Iran to carry out raids.
