Iran: four prisoners hanged in Zahedan and Gonbad-e Kavous on the charges of murdering SSF agents

NCRI – The mullahs’ henchmen hanged three prisoners identified as Abdolaziz Esmail Zehi, Abdoljamal Shahbakhsh and Ali Akbar Shahbakhsh on security charges and murdering a member of the State Security Forces (SSF) in the provincial capital of Zahedan, the state-run news agency Fars reported on August 6.
Yesterday, a prisoner was hanged in public on the charges of murdering another SSF member in the course of so-called combating “hooligans and thugs,” in the northern province of Golestan, the state-run daily Etemaad-Meli reported.

Last week two prisoners identified as Majid and Hossein Kavossi-Far were executed in public on the charges of murdering a hanging judge in Tehran.

On July 21, 2007, two other prisoners identified as Fazel Ramezani and Haj-Morad Mohammadi, along with ten other prisoners were hanged on the charges of attacking Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) members.

In past years, the Iranian regime has executed political prisoners on the charges of committing common crimes such as drug smuggling, but in recent weeks and amid the increasing popular uprisings, the number of political executions has risen dramatically. The ruling religious fascism is desperately attempting to suppress the upheavals by creating public fear.

The Iranian Resistance reiterated that inaction by the international community in respect with the new wave of arbitrary executions in Iran has emboldened the mullahs to continue with the present trend. It considers expanding of relations with the mullahs’ murderous regime by the European Union would undermine the principles of human rights.

The Iranian Resistance called on the international community and especially the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the UN Secretary General and the Security Council to condemn the arbitrary executions carried out by the Iranian regime, and implement immediate and binding measures against the brutal and systematic human rights violations in Iran. It called on U.N. member states that relations with the regime should be conditional to the improvement of human rights in Iran.
