NCRI – Three prisoners were hanged in public in northern city of Babolsar on Wednesday. Another prisoner, indentified as Adnan Albuali, 28, was hanged in public in southern city of Mahshahr on Tuesday.

The General Prosecutor of Mahshahr was quoted as saying that a prisoner was sentenced to amputation of his arm and leg and the sentence was carried out in prison. He was accused of participating in an armed robbery.

With the executions today, the number of executions over a week reaches 15. On April 8 and 11, eleven other prisoners were hanged in Mashhad, Taybad and Esfahan.

The Iranian regime has resorted to public hangings and high number of executions in a bid to intensify the atmosphere of fear and intimidation to prevent people’s protests.

The Iranian Resistance calls on all human rights organizations, including the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions, to condemn executions in Iran and take urgent measures to stop the current criminal trend.
