He said, "The special units in police stations as oppose to regular police units are able to confront all crime-related matters," and added that "since March of this year, 23,000 drug addicts were arrested" in Tehran.
In the same period, the SSF has implemented a number of suppressive plans such as "Undercover Police," "Neighborhood Police," "Mountain Police," "Student Dormitory Police," and "Judicial Police." Despite their numerous titles, the plans have a common goal which is to suppress popular uprisings in various parts of the country especially in the capital.
