Iran: Coronavirus Fatalities in 340 Cities Over 61,500

Iran-corona• On Tuesday and Wednesday, at least 103 people died in Mashhad, 28 in Neyshabur, 23 in Sabzevar, 14 in Quchan, and 32 in Bojnurd.

• Seventeen new deaths were recorded in Bandar Abbas in one day.

• The Governor of Kalaleh (Golestan): A seven-fold increase in the Coronavirus epidemic in the city.

• In Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, the number of patients has tripled the GHL standard; in Gilan, it rose to 3,110 and in Hormozgan to 525.

In its engineered statistics, the spokesperson for the regime’s Health Ministry announced today that the number of death in the past 24 hours was 109, and the new cases of infections were 2,628, of which 1,356, or 51.5 percent, were hospitalized. She added that 2,912 patients are in critical condition. She also said that the provinces of Kermanshah, Kurdistan, Khuzestan, Hormozgan, West Azerbaijan, and Bushehr are red, and the provinces of East Azerbaijan, Khorasan Razavi and Alborz are experiencing an increasing number of patients.

According to reports from hospital sources during Tuesday and Wednesday, June 23 and 24, at least 103 people died in Mashhad, 28 in Neyshabur, 23 in Sabzevar, 14 in Quchan, and 32 in Bojnurd.

According to doctors, in June, the number of Coronavirus patients in the city of Mahabad has at least doubled, but the situation in the villages are much worse, and many patients die without access to the hospitals and doctors.

According to reports from Zabul Cemetery, the death toll is rising. Many of the dead are buried as acute respiratory illnesses, which is Coronavirus. Many patients die in their homes in rural areas, and the cause of death is claimed to be old age or other diseases. Many of the victims are buried outside the cemetery and are not recorded anywhere. The security service has warned the Cemetery officials that they do not have the right to give the death toll figures.

In Isfahan, the Director of public relations at Isfahan University of Medical Sciences told IRNA news agency yesterday that following the increase in the number of patients, there was a severe need for more beds. He added that “Amin, Khorshid, Issa Bin Maryam hospitals and part of Al-Zahra Hospital, along with the Social Security Hospital, have been dedicated to Coronavirus patients … but these hospitals have been mostly completed. We will need to add one or two new hospitals to be able to receive and admit new patients.”

Sobh Sahel daily reported that 17 Coronavirus patients died in Bandar Abbas, in Hormozgan Province, yesterday. The head of Payambar Azam Health Center in Bandar Abbas was quoted by ISNA today as saying, “This center has utilized all its capacity to treat Coronavirus patients and has no more capacity.”

In Golestan, the president of the University of Medical Sciences told Are-Iran daily, yesterday, “With the current trend, there is a high probability of bed shortages in Gonbad Kavus hospitals. The Governor of Kalaleh announced a seven-fold increase in the Coronavirus epidemic in the city.”

In Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, the president of the University of Medical Sciences was quoted by IRNA news agency, yesterday, announcing a threefold increase in the number of patients in the Province.

In Ilam, the vice president of the University of Medical Sciences told IRNA yesterday, “There are restrictions on the number of patients … The number of people with Coronavirus in Mehran, Darrehshahr and Chardavol are increasing rapidly. The number of patients in the past 24 hours is the highest in recent months. Sampling has doubled, but the number of infected has tripled or quadrupled.”

In Fars, the president of the Medical Sciences University in Jahrom told Fars news agency yesterday, “The unprecedented increase in the number of those infected has put Jahrom in a critical situation. In case of negligence, a major crisis will grip us. These days, in an unprecedented development, 50 percent of the samples sent to labs test positive.”

In Khuzestan, the acting president of the Jundishapur Medical Sciences University was quoted by Eqteshad 24, today as saying, “Around 100 children in the Province have contracted the virus. Presently, the only center to hospitalize and treat children under the age of 15 and infected with Coronavirus is Abuzar Hospital in Ahvaz. For every 1,000 persons, there is only one hospital bed in Khuzestan Province. In several provinces, there are two or three beds for every 1,000 patients.”

IN Qom, the president of the Medical Sciences University told Shafghana website today, “In recent weeks, we witnessed a rising peak of those infected, which increased the number of outpatients and hospitalizations. Every hospital must allocate a ward to Coronavirus.”

In Kashan, the Director, the Health Network, said, “Kashan was like the first week of Esfand (February 19 to March 20). It could reach the level of 20th of Isfand, and the most severe state of Coronavirus spread,” according to Tasnim news agency.”
