4,875 died from February 20 to May 21 in 18 hospitals out of 138 that receive Coronavirus patients
The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI /MEK) announced today, Thursday, May 28, 2020, that based on specific statistics from dozens of hospitals out of 138 that accept Coronavirus patients in Tehran province, and figures from cemeteries, the death toll for Coronavirus in Tehran Province with a population of 14 million far exceeds 10,000, bringing the number of victims in 323 cities to more than 47,500.
Since February 20, 2020, until May 21, 2020, 4,875 people have died of Coronavirus in 18 out of 138 hospitals in Tehran that accept Coronavirus patients, including Yaftabad, Imam Hossein, Khomeini, Masih Daneshvari, Shohada Gomnam (Khorasan Square), Loghman Hakim, Modarres, Tajrish, Labafinejad, Sina, Ziaian, A’alam, Taleghani, Madain, Kashani Shariati, Mufateh Varamin, and Sajad hospitals.
The death toll in Khuzestan has risen to 3,550, Mazandaran 2,710, Kermanshah 1,075, Alborz 1,660, Lorestan 1,430, and Hamedan 1,275. The actual death toll has increased in different provinces, but the clerical regime is trying to hide through lies and deception. One can figure out the actual number of the victims in other provinces and the extent of the regime’s lies from the statements made by Tehran’s governor two days ago, who told the official news agency ILNA, “The average number of Coronavirus deaths in the country is 8.5%, and in Tehran Province, it is 3.5%.”
On May 27, Massoud Mardani, a member of the National Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine Research Center at the Health Ministry, told IRNA news agency, “12 percent of Coronavirus patients who come to the hospital and 50 percent of patients who are admitted to the intensive care unit die.”
On May 25, the regime’s Deputy Health Minister, Iraj Haririchi, blamed the people and told the state-run TV, “44% of the [people in] Tehran did not comply, and ultimately Tehran is our Achilles heel in many of these cases … Unfortunately, Tehran is in the worst situation in terms of compliance with [health] protocols. In particular, the outskirts of Tehran are crowded, and there are some side issues in those places, as well as some of the ceremonies that are being held.”
The following day, Haririchi tried to justify the growing number of victims in Iran through deceptive tactics and told the State-run TV, “Countries like the UK don’t count the number of people who die in the nursing homes, while the number of fatalities in the nursing homes is not small; or in Germany, they say that we don’t consider 50% of patients who die in their statistics even despite their test being positive if they had some other diseases and were old people. Some of these old people had diabetes, blood pressure, respiratory disorder, etc. But we have been very transparent; you can see our statistics. Right now, our figure is decreasing; in some cases, the figures have gone up, which had its reasons. We did not believe in engineering the statistics at all”!! Haririchi also said, “82% of the Coronavirus information published in cyberspace in the country was published by those who are against the state and the regime.”
In an attempt to justify the regime’s bogus fatalities figures, and in response to reports about “15,000 fatalities,” the Health Ministry spokesperson told the state TV on May 25, “The yardstick across the world is the number of confirmed cases. The definitive criteria for COVID19 is the PCR test. We cannot tell the patient he/she is infected without PCR.” As such, the Health Ministry is admitting that its fatality figures consist only of cases where the victims’ infection was definitely established through PCR before their death.
Meanwhile, the Judiciary’s news agency reported yesterday that the number of those infected in different provinces is on the rise. Alireza Zali, the Head of the National Coronavirus Combat Task Force, said, “In the past 24 hours, we have witnessed the infection of 265 people and a relative increase of 3.5 percent.”
In Kermanshah, the Chancellor for the Medical Sciences University told IRGC’s Javan website, on May 27, “The rise in the number of infected people in the Province is very concerning. If this trend continues, we will certainly witness a surge in the disease.”
Serat News quoted the public relations director for the same university as saying yesterday, “We have no virus-free cities in the Province. Four cities, Kermanshah, Javanroud, Harsin and Solas-Babajani, are in a red state, and the rest have been given a warning.”
In Jiroft, the Medical Sciences University Chancellor told ISNA on May 27, “The number of those who definitively tested positive in May was five to six times higher than in April.”
In Dezful, Fars News Agency quoted the Medical Sciences University Chancellor on May 27, as saying, “Positive cases of infection in Khuzestan Province and the city of Dezful are on the rise. As such, Dezful is in red-state similar to other parts of the Province.” His deputy added, “Eight large hospitals in Dezful are dealing with Coronavirus patients. One hundred thirty of the medical personnel in the university have been infected.”
In Hormozgan, the Medical Sciences University Chancellor told ISNA today, “This week, the number of those infected in Hormozgan has been on the rise. The situation in Minab is a source of concern.”
In Kurdistan, the deputy Governor told Mehr News Agency today, “The figures relating to coronavirus across the province are alarming.”
