In Tehran’s hospitals, including Khomeini Hospital, the number of inpatients is so high that patients must sleep in the corridors without care or medicine. The emergency section is over capacity and refuses to transfer more patients to the hospital. Respiratory equipment, especially ventilators, are scarce in hospitals and expensive to use (sometimes up to 20 million tomans). Nurses and medical staff complain about the lack of masks, gloves, and disinfectants. These items are also rare in the market and sold at high prices. The screening plan being advertised is a propaganda work and has no scientific basis.
Many barracks, such as the ones in Birjand, Quchan, Bojnourd, and Torbat-e-Jam, have a large number of soldiers infected with the virus. Still, the regime is trying to cover up the issue to prevent the soldiers from escaping.
The Corona outbreak is rampant in the northern and western parts of Gilan (north Iran). More than 200 have died in Talesh and at least 50 in Astara. Many people have died in the villages of this region, which are not included in any statistics.
While starting from tomorrow (Saturday, April 11, 2020), Khamenei and Rouhani are forcing people back to work, Alireza Zali, head of Tehran’s National Coronavirus Combat Taskforce (NCCT) told ILNA (state-run news agency), “About 86.4 percent of people prefer to impose more restrictions in Tehran to ensure the disease is controlled.”
Today, Tayebeh Siavoshi, a regime parliament deputy from Tehran, speaking to a state-run news portal, Rouydad-24, said, “The government does not believe in quarantine. The parliament tried to pass a three-priority motion to shut down the country for a month, which was strangely removed from the schedule to minimize the parliament’s oversight on the government’s activities.” “Every day, many workers or employees will have to go to the streets for work to earn money, and that’s worrying,” she added.
Yesterday, a government poll, published by the state-run news agency ISNA, acknowledged that three-quarters of people questioned, “prefer to stay at home” and to continue to keep (businesses, etc.) closed until the Coronavirus is under control instead of going out to keep their jobs.
To counter any social upheaval, Ebrahim Raisi, head of the regime’s judiciary, threatened to take repressive measures in the post-Coronavirus era. Yesterday, while calling the notorious judiciary’s henchmen, Medical crimes staff, he told the State TV, “The serious order of the day is to prevent the crimes in the aftermath of the Corona outbreak.” “Anyone (committing a crime) who has suffered from the social or economic crisis, or moral issues, due to Corona outbreak, should be taken to this clinic (i.e., prison), and in this health complex, which also has medical staff who are responsible for the treatment. First, the staff must be careful not to be infected with the virus, and then they have to investigate the reason for the crime, the reason for bribery, financial corruption, and then treat it. Monitor the recovery period. Our prosecutors, esteemed judges, heads of justice departments, and judicial officials play a critical role in monitoring so that the country would not be infected with different coronas.”
