The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK) announced on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, that the Coronavirus victims in 329 cities in Iran had exceeded 50,700. The number of victims in Khuzestan is 4,095, Mazandaran 2,780, Sistan and Baluchestan 1,810, Lorestan 1,705, West Azerbaijan 1,405, Hamedan 1,305, Yazd 710, Central Province 615, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari 359, Ilam 323, in Hormozgan 325.
While Coronavirus leaves more victims every day and hospitals cannot accept patients in many locations, Rouhani deceitfully told the official state agency, IRNA today, “Except for a few provinces, we have managed to contain Coronavirus, and efforts have been redoubled to get those out of the red state.” He added that the increase in patients in recent weeks is due to a lot of tests being done, which naturally increases patient’s identification, but it is not negative. People should not worry because when diagnosed sooner, they will not have to be hospitalized.” He shamelessly added, “Some heads of foreign states are asking us to export disinfectant and sanitation equipment, which we are, of course, doing.”
Last night, Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli had said, “The number of those infected and dead has regrettably increased. Previously, we had 30 to 34 deaths. Now, we have again reached 65 to 70,” according to IRNA.
In Tehran, Dr. Davood Payam Tabarsi, a specialist in infectious diseases in Masih Daneshvari Hospital, told ISNA today, “Infections and hospitalizations in Tehran have increased this week… In Daneshvari Hospital, we normally had 250 patients during the peak periods in March and April. In May, the figure was about 70. Unfortunately, it has now increased to 180 people.”
Khabar Online quoted the head of the Center for Research on Novel Diseases in the Pasteur Institute on June 10, as saying, “Following the increase in the number of hospitalizations, we expect to have an increase in the next few weeks… If the reopening leads to the rise in fatalities, it must be revisited.”
According to the state-run news agency IMNA, vice-president of Medical Sciences University in Isfahan today reported the widespread dimension of fatalities and put the number of dead in Isfahan, except for Kashan, at 1,484. He said, “In the past two days, we witnessed more than 400 infections in Isfahan, excluding the Kashan region. Some 9.5 percent of those infected with Coronavirus died in Isfahan. Presently, between 50 to 70 people are hospitalized, and currently, 426 patients are hospitalized.”
In Kashan, Aran and Bidgol, which are not covered by Isfahan’s Medical Sciences University, the number of those who lost their lives are definitely more than 900. The figures for private, Army, IRGC, and State Security Force hospitals are not included in the fatalities count.
In Fars Province, the President of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences was quoted by the state television and radio news agency yesterday, “The figures for those infected with Coronavirus in Fars Province doubled in the past 24 hours. The epidemic is not only not decreasing; it is rising.”
In Hormozgan, the President of the Medical Sciences University was quoted by IRNA and Fars news agency yesterday, “Today, Hormozgan has 311 infections in the past 24 hours, which is the highest figure… Currently, the situation in the Province is critical, and it is expected that next week Mohammadi Hospital would endure a heavy load.”
In Kurdistan, Medical Sciences University vice-president told IRNA on June 9, “The number of those infected in Sanandaj has doubled relative to the first wave of the virus. The city is in the red state.”
In Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad, Gachsaran governor told IRNA on June 9, “The number of those infected in the past ten days has increased by 1.5 times.”
It is worth noting that Iraj Harirchi, Deputy Health Minister, said for the first time on June 6 that the number of fatalities may reach two to three hundred thousand. Mohammad-Reza Shams-Ardakani, the Health Minister Advisor, said on June 9, “People must know that we will have to live with Coronavirus for the next couple of years.”
