  • Four weeks after forcing the poor back to work, the number of patients has reached 2,815 in 24 hours, the highest in the last eight weeks, a 250% increase compared to four weeks ago, according to the Health Ministry
  • Head of West Ahvaz Health Center: we have identified over 5,000 patients in the west and east of Ahvaz. One or two are infected in each family
  • The President of Tabriz Medical Sciences University: 18 out of every 100 people in East Azerbaijan Province are infected with Coronavirus
  • Maryam Rajavi: The mullahs’ anti-human regime is responsible for the spike in Coronavirus infections in Iran and the rising number of victims. Major economic and financial conglomerates controlled by Khamenei and IRGC could have easily provided for several months of living expenses of the hardworking Iranians, and the deprived so that they would not have needed to go to work. There was no need to send the Iranian people to the altar of Coronavirus.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK) announced on Friday, May 29, 2020, that the Coronavirus death toll in 323 cities across Iran has surged past 47,800. The number of victims in Khuzestan is 3,585, East Azerbaijan 1,625, Lorestan 1,455, West Azerbaijan 1,295, Kermanshah 1,097, Fars 1,060, Kurdistan 840, and Kerman 553.

The Coronavirus catastrophe has become much worse just a few weeks after the ruthless and criminal decision by Khamenei and Rouhani to force the needy to return to work. While announcing the engineered figures, the spokesman for the Health Ministry acknowledged today that there had been 2,815 Coronavirus infections over the past 24 hours, a 250 percent increase in four weeks, and the highest during the past eight weeks. Speaking to the state TV, he added, “The situation of Khuzestan Province continues to be red. Khorasan, East and West Azerbaijan, Lorestan, Kurdistan, Kermanshah, Hormozgan, and Mazandaran provinces are in red alert situation.”

Hassan Rouhani blamed the “interurban trips during the Eid al-Fitr holidays” as the reason for the increasing trend of infections and asked people “to refrain from unnecessary trips.” He threatened to “re-impose some restrictions” His Health Minister, Saeed Namaki, talking to IRNA news agency, today, also said, “Should unnecessary trips on the weekends and during summer vacations continue at the current rate, and health protocols not respected completely, we shall face another rise of the Coronavirus infections in the country, and will be forced to re-impose restrictions.”

The head of Western Ahvaz’s Hygiene Center talking to Khuzestan TV network affirmed yesterday, “In the Eastern and Western Ahvaz region we have spotted more than 5,000 infected people… There are one or two such cases in every family.”

Deputy Health Minister Ghassem Janbabaï told the state TV, today, “The number of infected people rises daily in Khuzestan Province. We foresee an increase in the number of those hospitalized as well as ambulatory patients.”

In Eastern Azerbaijan, speaking to the state-official Radio and TV news agency, the Head of Tabriz Medical Sciences’ University announced, “The total number of infections in the Province is 8,820, with 567 losses of lives related to the pandemic. There are approximately 18 infected cases out of every 100 persons in this Province.”

The spokesman for the Jondishapur Medical Sciences University in Khuzestan Province told the IRGC mouthpiece, Javan Daily, yesterday, “In the past 24 hours, 580 others have contracted the virus.” The Chancellor for Abadan Medical University added, “In the past 24 hours, 122 new cases of virus infection have been reported.”

In Kermanshah, the Medical Sciences University’s Chancellor told Fars news agency today, “In the past few days, more than 200 patients have been hospitalized in the Province. This is quite disconcerting.”

The official news agency, IRNA, reported yesterday that in Fars Province, “Shiraz, Marvdasht, Abadeh, Larestan, Evaz, Gerash, Fassa, and Jahrom, have the highest number of Coronavirus infections. The number in the Province is in three digits in these cities and is two digits in 25 other cities.”

In Hormozgan Province, Deputy Governor and Special Governor for the city of Minab was quoted by IRNA as saying today, “Minab Hospital is full to capacity.”

In Bushehr, Medical Sciences University’s Chancellor told the Tasnim news agency today, “The increase in Coronavirus patients as tests become positive is concerning.”

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) again underscored that the mullahs’ anti-human regime is responsible for the spike in Coronavirus infections in Iran and the rising number of victims. The mullahs care about nothing other than preserving their disgraceful rule and plundering the Iranian nation. Otherwise, the major economic and financial conglomerates controlled by Khamenei and the IRGC could have easily provided for several months of living expenses of the hardworking Iranians and the deprived so that they would not have needed to go to work. There was no need to send the Iranian people to the altar of Coronavirus.
