Iran: Brutal attack on political prisoners in Gohardasht prison

Gohardasht prison in Karaj, IranNCRI – Dozens of suppressive agents brutally attacked political prisoners and other defenseless prisoners in Ward 4 of Gohardasht prison in Karaj on Tuesday, December 15.

By creating a atmosphere of terror and intimidation, the agents forced the prisoners out of their cells into the open air area despite the cold weather.

The attack was conducted under the orders of Ali Haj Kazem, head of the henchmen in prison, and other suppressive elements, namely; Kermani, Faraji, Moradi and Samii. The agents, accompanied by trained dogs, destroyed personal belongings of prisoners or take them away.

Most of the inmates in Ward 4 are political prisoners including, Mansour Osanlou, head of the executive committee of the Syndicate of Workers of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company (SWTSBC), Ali Sarami, Saiid Massouri, Afshin Baymani, Arjang Davoudi, Ali Mo’ezi, Houd Yazarlou, Misaq Yazdan Nejad, Mohammad-Ali Mansouri, Shir-Mohammad Rezaii and Mansour Radpour.

The Iranian Resistance calls on all human rights organizations, especially the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and Special Rapporteur on torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment, to condemn appalling state of human rights in Iran. It also calls for their immediate and binding measures to stop criminal treatment of prisoners, in particular political prisoners.
