Iran: Appeal to stop imminent execution of two young men

National Council of Resistance of IranNCRI – Two young prisoners are going to be hanged in Tehran’s notorious Evin prison on Wednesday, May 6, for crimes alleged to have been committed when they were only 16, according to their lawyers. The prisoners are identified as Amir Khaleqi and Safar Angooti.

The clerical regime hanged a 23-year-old woman artist, Delara Darabi, in Rasht on May 1, despite widespread international cries. Her execution shocked all advocates of human rights and democracy across the world. She was only 17 at the time of crime attributed to her.

Hanging of youths who are themselves victims of the tyrannical regime for crimes alleged to have been committed when they were under aged, is a clear indication of the barbaric nature of the medieval regime ruling Iran. This is aimed to expand the reign of terror and repression.

The Iranian Resistance calls on all international human rights organizations including the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to condemn this barbaric crime and to adopt immediate binding measures to save the lives of the youths.
