Iran: Anti-government rally on the anniversary of Student Day

NCRI – Late last night and in the early morning hours, the State Security Forces (SSF) and agents of Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) arrested a number of students from various universities in Tehran, in an attempt to prevent a large student gathering in Tehran University to mark the Student Day in Iran.

In addition, the mullahs’ regime adopted special measures in and around the university campus to stop students from rallying and has imposed an undeclared martial law.

NCRI – Late last night and in the early morning hours, the State Security Forces (SSF) and agents of Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) arrested a number of students from various universities in Tehran, in an attempt to prevent a large student gathering in Tehran University to mark the Student Day in Iran.
In addition, the mullahs’ regime adopted special measures in and around the university campus to stop students from rallying and has imposed an undeclared martial law.

The officials have admitted to a number of arrests, "Number of agitators with fake identification cards who had entered Tehran university campus to hold an illegal gathering in front of Technical College were recognized and later arrested by the officers from Tehran province branch of Intelligence Ministry had been called from different cities by the enemies of the Islamic regime and certain political groups to hold an illegal gathering and create conflict and disturbance in the cultural and academic place of the university," the state-run news agency IRNA reported last night.
 
In the past week, Iranian universities and colleges such as: Karman, Mazandaran, Shiraz, Azad Tabriz, Najaf-Abad, Boali in Hamden, Kermanshah, Orumieh, and Khorramshahr were the scene of anti-government protests by students commemorating the anniversary of December Seventh, Student Day. The participants shouted, "Death to dictator," "Free all political prisoners," "University is wide awake," "University is the last barricade," "Students die but will not be humiliated," "Mr. President the student movement will stand until the end."
 
The Iranian Resistance draws the attention of all international human rights organizations and student unions to the suppressive measures imposed on students by the regime. The Iranian Resistance also calls for international support for the Iranian student movement for freedom.
