Iran: An international call for action against executions

National Council of resistance of IranTwelve prisoners hanged in Bojnourd and Ahwaz
NCRI – On Sunday, the mullahs' inhuman regime hanged nine prisoners, one of them in public, in the northeastern city of Bojnourd, according to the state-run news agency Fars.

The prosecutor general for the province of North Khorasan requested the death penalty for 80 prisoners, nine of which were carried out in Bojnourd yesterday.

Meanwhile, three prisoners were sent to the gallows in the southwestern city of Ahwaz on Sunday, the state-run daily Qods reported.

The mullahs' regime has stepped up arbitrary executions to combat the growing public revulsion against it at home and international isolation abroad.

The Iranian Resistance calls on the UN Secretary General, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and all international human rights organizations to condemn the increasing number of executions by the Iranian regime. The Resistance also calls for referral of the Iranian regime's human rights dossier to the UN Security Council. It also calls for urgent measures to halt the executions and other cruel and degrading punishments in Iran.
