Iran: A prisoner’s hand amputated in Yazd

NCRI – The anti-human clerical regime in Iran on Saturday amputated a young prisoner’s hand in central ‎prison of city of Yazd, central Iran. The inhumane punishment has been recently carried out ‎against six other prisoners. At least a 21-year-old prisoner in Tehran and another prisoner in city of ‎Qazvin await the barbaric punishment, according to reports by the state-run media. (Fars News ‎Agency, October 16, 2010)‎

 

During the past few weeks a number of other prisoners have received inhumane punishments.  In ‎Susangerd  a prisoner was flogged on October 16 charged with theft. In the northern city of ‎Gonbad-e-Kavus four youths were flogged publicly on October 18 charged with being “thugs.” ‎These crimes that are carried out in public have prompted protests and outrage of Iranian people. ‎In Gonbad-e-Kavous, a number of women passersby were taken to hospital after being shocked. ‎A youth was arrested as he protested the punishments‏.‏
