Gohardasht PrisonNCRI – Ardeshir Keshavarz, 35, was transferred to solitary confinement Tuesday, 29 December, in order to carry out his death sentence. He has been in jail for six years in Gohardasht prison in Karaj, west of Tehran.

He was accused of killing an agent of the State Security Force in a clash in Kermanshah (western Iran). As he had managed to escape from prison once before, he was additionally charged with the murder of a judge named Moqadas. His brother is also in Gohardasht prison.

The Iranian Resistance calls on all international human rights organizations, especially the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and the UN Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions, to condemn the increasing number of executions in Iran. It also calls for urgent and binding measures to stop this cruel sentence.
