Iran: 32 executions in five days, concurrent with MEPs visit

NCRI – Wave of execution in different cities around the country continues. Just during December 14 through 18, news on 32 executions was published bringing the average number of executions to over six per day. This is while many executions in regime’s prisons are conducted secretly and their news never gets out. Two of those executed were minors at the time of their arrest.

In Karaj’s Ghezel Hessar prison eight prisoners were collectively executed on Thursday, December 18.

In Shiraz, on December 14, three prisoners were hanged in Adel Abad prison. According to the henchmen in this prison, 39 prisoners are to be executed in the next few days. Nemat Parakandeh, a young prisoner, has lost his ability to speak due to shock after hearing the news and an atmosphere of horror has overwhelmed the prisoners.

In Rasht, from December 14 to 16, four prisoners were hanged.

In Urumiyah, in two group executions on December 16 and 18, seven prisoners by the names of Payman Mohammadi, Mehdi Agir Kaffash, Hossein Aghazadeh, Qader Neikandish, Eraj Nassirei, Changiz Salehi and Ahad Shakouri were executed in the central prison. Eraj Nassirei had less than fifteen years of age at the time of his arrest.

In Tabriz, four young prisoners were executed on December 18.

In Zahedan, three prisoners were executed from December 16 to 18. The prisoner executed on December 16 was 24 years old and had less than 18 years of age when arrested. Two other prisoners, Nasser Gomshadzehi and Mehdi Javanmard were 31 and 28 respectively.

In Semnan, two prisoners of 31 and 34 years of age, and in Qazvin a 46 year old prisoner were executed on December 17 and 15 respectively.

Parvin Garavand, the 52 year old mother of Feraydoun Khanjari, committed suicide on December 18, three days after the execution of his son in Diesel Abad prison of Kermanshah, due to tremendous pressures resulting from this atrocity and lost her life.

Employment of an intensified trend of suppression, in particular the barbaric death penalty, by the anti-human clerical regime is because of its inability to confront growing domestic and international crises and its fear of a popular uprising by Iranian people who are under immense pressures.

These executions, carried out concurrent with a visit by a few European parliament representatives to the Iran under mullahs’ rule, is mullahs’ welcoming to a trip opposed by the great majority of members of the European parliament.

The deadly silence of these few representatives regarding the barbaric and systematic violation of human rights in Iran and shaking the hands of murderers of the Iranian people has no meaning but collaboration in these atrocities.
