Prisoners hanged in public in Iran (file photo)Religious fascism tries in vain to cap uprising through executions, suppression and torture

NCRI – In a criminal act, the mullahs’ regime on 30 July hanged 24 prisoners together in Gohardasht Prison in Karaj. The regime’s state media published the report of this vulgar crime six days later simultaneous with the inauguration of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, described the mass executions as a criminal attempt to spread fear to counter the widespread social unrest. She said the religious fascism would not gain anything from this crime and could not escape its inevitable downfall.

Mrs. Rajavi urges the UN Secretary General, Security Council, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and all human rights organizations to condemn such arbitrary executions and adopt binding measures against the mullahs’ regime to put a halt to these executions.
