Iran: 23 hanged in less than two weeks

In the past two days, five prisoners were hanged in Tehran and Bandar Abbas.

NCRI – Iranian Judiciary henchmen hanged five prisoners in the capital, Tehran, and the southern port city of Bandar Abbas on Wednesday and Thursday, the state-run daily Tehran Emrouz reported today.

Two prisoners identified as Abdolrahman and Parviz were hanged in the southern city of Khomeir, after the verdicts were upheld by the Supreme Court.

On Wednesday, three other prisoners named Mohammad Safar, Alireza and Behzad were hanged in the notorious Evin Prison in Tehran.

The clerical regime has executed 23 people over the past two weeks. These suppressive measures aim to terrorize the public and stem the increasing protests and demonstrations by the country’s teachers, students and workers.

The Iranian Resistance calls on all international human rights organizations to take urgent action to stop the recent spate of arbitrary executions by the clerical regime.
