Messrs. Mohammad Hashemi, Ali Pour-Salman and Mohammad Davari members of the Teacher’s Organization were arrested during protest gatherings outside Majlis which took place in February and March. So far, the charges have been brought against Mr. Hashemi.
The Mullahs’ regime has pressed charges against 40 teachers and 270 other are facing administrative charges. Many have lost their jobs.
Mohammad Qadimi, member of the Teachers’ Welfare Association has been sentenced to five years in exile in northeastern province of South Khorasan. Two other teachers identified as Emad and Dibaji were sent to exile in Arak (central Iran) and Kohkilooye Bouyer Ahamad (southern Iran) respectively. Eskandar Lotfi, another teacher was sent to three years exile in Ardebil Province, northwest Iran, by the administrative court in Kurdistan Province.
Another member, Majiri, has been sacked, according to the Teachers’ Welfare Association.
They have not been paid for months and Pressure on teachers is mounting. The Deputy Minister of Education was quoted by the state-run daily, Entekhab, on August 15 as saying that the part time teachers had not received their full payments for four months starting March 21.
The Iranian Resistance condemns growing pressures on teachers and cruel sentences against those who were arrested during demonstrations to demand their basic rights. It also calls on international human rights bodies and the International Labor Organization (ILO) to condemn inhuman measures against teachers in Iran.
