NCRI-A week after uprising by the people in Eqlid, a central Iranian city, the mullahs’ regime is still blindly arresting citizens and the city is in a volatile state. More than 400 people have been placed under torture in prisons in Eqlid, Marvdasht, Shiraz, and Isfahan. The State Security Forces (SSF) special units, Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) agents are roaming around the city.

The regime’s vicious Interior Minister, Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi is in the city supervising the widespread crackdown on people in Eqlid.

Hundreds of residents were injured when the SSF attacked them in the streets of Eqlid. Nearly 300 people were wounded and rushed for treatment to Valiasr local hospital and Zenabeh Hospital in the southern city of Shiraz as well as other hospitals in nearby city of Marvdasht. Some of the seriously injured demonstrators are in danger of losing their lives, according to reports.  Mohammad Sharifi, a local resident who was wounded by SSF while demonstrating against the regime is in critical condition.

Zabihullah Jamshidi was critically injured and later was pronounced dead at a hospital when SSF Special Units opened fire on the demonstrators. Fearing more unrest, the suppressive forces prevented the mourners from conducting funeral precessions for Mr. Jamshidi, something that further enraged the local residents.

The Iranian Resistance draws the attention of  the UN Secretary General, the UN Human Rights Commissar and all international human rights organizations to the conditions of detainees  in Eqlid’s uprising and urges them to adopt necessary measure to secure their freedom.
