An international call to save a political prisoner in Iran

NCRI – Mr. Khalil Shalchi, a 65-year-old political prisoner charged with supporting the main Iranian opposition, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI), has been in the notorious Evin Prison since 2000. He is in poor health and in recent weeks his condition has deteriorated. Mr. Shalchi needs immediate medical attention due to his serious illness.

As a political prisoner, Mr. Shalchi spent a number years in the Shah’s prisons where he was subjected to harassment and torture. Since his three daughters are currently in Asharf City (home to the members of the PMOI in Iraq), the State Security Forces (SSF) have attacked his residence in Tehran.

The Iranian Resistance calls on international human rights organizations to take urgent measures to save Mr. Shalchi’s life.
