A special committee is formed to confront people’s uprisings in Azerbaijan

A special committee is formed to confront people’s uprisings in AzerbaijanNCRI – Unable to suppress mass uprisings in Iran’s Azeri provinces, the mullahs’ regime has resorted to new repressive actions.

Qorbanali Dori-Najafabadi, the regime’s Prosecutor General praised the suppressive actions taken by the security, intelligence, and judicial apparatus to combat the uprisings in Azeri provinces and said, “A coordinating committee has been formed in the state prosecutor’s office for the events in Azerbaijan.”

Dori-Najafabadi called on the regime’s suppressive forces to be on alert against such events and said that the “main instigators of riots and unrests” should be punished without hesitation.

Separately, the commander of the State Security Forces in West Azerbaijan province claimed that a “network of 16 people” had been arrested in the people’s uprising in recent weeks. He added that those detained were connected to “anti-revolutionary” groups which were being “organized from abroad.”

The Iranian Resistance once again calls on all human rights organizations to condemn the suppression in Iran’s Azeri provinces and take urgent measures to save the lives of those arrested.
