NCRI – Iranian Resistance strongly condemns the arrest, deportation and extradition of Mr. Fariborz Firoozi, an Iranian asylum seeker and calls for his immediate release.
The Swiss Police intended to deport an opponent of the Iranian regime, Mr. Fariborz Firoozi, 22 years- old, on Tuesday May 16, 2012. The Police officers transferred him from prison to the airport to forcibly aboard him on the plane but he strongly refused to go and therefore was returned to prison again by the Police.
In Iran, he has been under persecution because of his engagement in anti mullahs’ activities, namely exposing the regime’s atrocities and distributing anti-government flyers, and he would have faced torture and execution if he were arrested. He has also been actively taking part in anti religious dictatorship ruling Iran, in Switzerland and as such is very well known to the Iranian regime. Mr. Firoozi who was arrested on May 4, is still in custody in Switzerland.
The Iranian Resistance calls on all human rights defenders in Switzerland to protest the deportation of this Iranian asylum seeker and calls for his immediate release.
