Military occupation of Ashraf – No. 126

NCRI – The Iranian Resistance warns about the fate of three family members of Ashraf residents, Mr. Nasser Sodagari, his wife Tahereh Pour-Rostam, and his son Pouyan who were all abducted on May 1, 2011 by agents of clerical regime’s Intelligence. The other child of the family Payam Sodagari is in Ashraf.

Regime’s agents refuse to give any information about this family two and a half months after their arrest. Pouyan, a university student, was injured during the arrest. Mrs. Tahereh Pour-Rostam suffers from heart ailment.

Nasser Sodagari is one of the political prisoners of 80s who, along with his family, was aggressed by the mullahs’ Intelligence service time and again in 90s. In 2007, he along with his wife and one of his relatives were arrested for participation in the memorial ceremony of 30,000 political prisoners massacred in 1988 and was sentenced to one year of imprisonment.

Arbitrary arrests of Ashraf residents’ families and PMOI supporters is in fact the fearful reaction of the mullahs’ faltering regime against increasing popular support for the residents of Ashraf.

The Iranian Resistance urges international authorities and human rights organization, particularly the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Special Rapporteur on Iran, and UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, to take urgent measures to end suppression of Ashraf residents’ families and to free all political prisoners in Iran.
