Camp Ashraf military occupation- No. 189

Targeted sites were identified by the Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) agents and with the support of Iraqi forces

NCRI – Following tonight’s rocket attack by the Iranian mullahs’ regime and their Iraqi proxies, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the Iranian resistance, said that this criminal attack was part of a forcible displacement scenario in order to target a peaceful resolution for Ashraf. This attack is carried out after an international consensus including in the UN Security Council, the United States, and the European Union caused an extension to December 31st deadline for closing Ashraf. She added that the rocket attack on Ashraf once again highlighted the necessity for the protection of Ashraf residents by the international community and specially the United States and the United Nations.

The terrorist rocket attack on Ashraf was carried out by a branch of the Quds Force, Assaeb-ul-Haq, who has been behind several terrorist and criminal attacks in Iraq. This group has close relationship with the Iraqi government and the government announced two days ago that Assaeb-ul-Haq and Hezbollah battalions have joined in the political process.

Last week, Brigadier General Hossein Hamedani personally went to Ashraf for identification purpose and preparing the ground for an attack. Also since last week 400 MOIS agents have been stationed in Moein complex in northern part of Ashraf that was occupied by Iraqi forces in last April attack. This group, with the help of Iraqi forces and agents of the Ashraf suppression committee in the Iraqi Prime Minster’s office, constantly identifies various parts of Ashraf and passes the information to the Quds Force.

Katusha rockets landed in Southern part of Ashraf close to residential areas at around 20:00 local time. Following that, at 21:00 the Iraqi officers including Colonel Abdullatif, commander of the Army battalion, Lt. Col. Mohsen, commander of SWAT, Captain Ra-ed, the engineering officer and a number of other Iraqi military personnel visited the sites where the rockets were landed.
