Camp Ashraf attacked – Statement 22

NCRI – Amir Khayyeri, member of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and resident of Ashraf City, Iraq, who had been in a coma after suffering from a cerebral traumatism caused by the attack of Iraqi forces, lost his life today at about 4:30 local time. He needed urgent medical attention, but since doctors were prevented from visiting Ashraf and with the required medical supplies lacking, he died.

Amir Khayyeri, 46, came from the city of Naghadeh in Iran, and had 22 years of experience in the political activities.

Additionally, two other wounded persons, Mansour Haddad and Asghar Yaghobpour, who were shot in the abdomen and have been in need of urgent medical attention and surgery since last night are in critical condition.

The National Council of Resistance of Iran requests help from all international medical organizations to send vital medical help. As it declared last night, the NCRI holds Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki personally responsible for preventing the entry of doctors to Ashraf and the death of those who need vital medical help, and it will file complaints at international tribunals.
