Mullahs’ regime: Any country accepting Ashraf residents is a hostile state

Military occupation of Ashraf – No. 123

NCRI – Concerned of the growing international support for European Parliament’s plan for transferring Ashraf residents to third countries, the Iranian regime, through Mohsen Rezaie, Secretary of regime’s State Exigency Council and ex-commander of the IRGC, threatened: “Any country, particularly the neighboring countries, that accepts PMOI’s request for admittance would automatically fall in the category of countries hostile to Iran, and these countries should take note of this.”

At the same time, according to IRGC Fars news agency, the Iranian ambassador to Baghdad Danaifar who is a Qods Force commander said: “the PMOI must leave Iraqi soil by the end of 2011; otherwise the Iraqi government will adopt measures to this effect.” In a forged and ludicrous report this news agency quoted the New Yorker magazine that in 2008 the U.S. Congress provided the President of that country a 400 million dollar budget to provide to groups such as the PMOI to instigate unrest and instability in Iran.

Concurrently, in a report titled “Confession of the U.S. Ambassador”, this news agency wrote, “James Jeffrey, the U.S. Ambassador to Iraq, confessed that given the adamant decision by the Iraqi government to expel the Monafeqin (derogatory term used by the regime for PMOI) from that country until the end of 2011, the U.S. has no alternative but to cooperate with the UN for the departure of the Monafeqin from Iraq.” The news agency then goes on to quote the U.S. Ambassador as saying: “Of course, for members of this group to be transferred to another country, it is first necessary for this organization to dissolve so that its members can be taken under the protection of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and then a decision would be made for their transfer.

The reality is that the clerical regime, fearful of the uprisings sweeping the region, especially in Syria, that adversely affect the previous balance of power, and apprehensive of expansion of popular uprisings in Iran, considers the annihilation of its organized opposition as a crucial step to rescue its toppling regime. Therefore, the only acceptable option for the Iranian regime regarding Ashraf residents is for them to surrender or for all of them to be destroyed.

In view of this perilous situation, the Iranian Resistance once again warns that the UN and the U.S. government, especially following the April 8 bloodbath, are responsible for the protection of Ashraf residents.
And considering that the U.S. forces disarmed the residents and signed a mutual agreement with every resident to protect them by U.S. forces, from now on, the U.S. is responsible for any crime committed against Ashraf residents by the Iraqi government.
