Iraqi government resorts to televised theatrics to cover up its enormous crime and prepare the groundwork for more attacks and massacres

NCRI – While the brutal crimes committed by Iraqi forces against residents of Camp Ashraf have sparked outrage and hatred among the Iraqi people and the world public opinion, and while journalists are banned from entering the camp, the Iraqi government has resorted to televised theatrics to claim that the Iraqi police and other suppressive forces were beaten by Ashraf residents.

For this purpose, the Iraqi government has staged a ridiculous TV show by bringing a crew of the al-Iraqiya TV, which represents the views of Nuri al-Maliki, to the base of police forces in Ashraf so that they could produce footage of plainclothes police forces who have allegedly been injured by Ashraf residents. Such shows are an exact replica of the clerical regime's shameful tactics which are known to everyone and thus cannot deceive anyone.

All indications point to the fact that these deceitful tactics are meant to prepare the groundwork for yet more attacks and continuation of the massacre of Ashraf residents.

The American forces on the scene have been informed about such ploys and potential subsequent attacks so that they could visit the location where the TV crew have been taken to.

The Iranian Resistance calls on reporters’ unions and advocates of freedom of expression and free flow of information to take immediate measures to force the Iraqi government to open Ashraf's doors to reporters.
