To this end, the Iraqi forces have removed armored vehicles from inside Ashraf to pretend that their presence is to provide protection to the Camp. They have taken away truncheons, axes and belts with sharp metal pieces from police force and other forces based inside the Camp and given them batons.

The Iraqi authorities have told some of the suppliers of food stuff, who were prevented from going to Ashraf for some time, to go there today with their lorries filled with food. Timing of their arrival to the Camp has been arranged to coincide with the visit of the representatives of UNAMI to Ashraf.
