Iraqi anti-riot police in full gear equipped with loaders, ambulances and fire fighters vehicles lined up outside Ashraf Camp

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance said in a statement on Monday in Rome:

NCRI – Simultaneous with the Iranian uprising against religious fascism in Iran, Camp Ashraf residents, members of the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) in Iraq, have notified the US and Iraqi officials that under certain conditions, like other Iranians in exile, they are prepared to return voluntarily to their country.

However, since last night, the Iraqi police have been preparing for a forceful and violent entry into the Camp in a bid to please the desperate regime of the mullahs.

From early hours of today, the Iraqi anti-riot police and members of Rapid Deployment Force, in full combat gears have been lined up outside Ashraf gates and are ready to attack. To facilitate their forceful entry, they are equipped with loaders, fire fighters vehicles and ambulances. Columns of equipments and new reinforcements and heavy machinery are also on their way.

British Parliamentary Committee for Iran Freedom on behalf of the majority of parliament members and 200 members of the House of Lords, Friends of a Free Iran in the European Parliament, Friends of a Free Iran-Norway, International Committee in Search of Justice backed by more than 2,000 parliamentarians from both sides of the Atlantic, International Sakharov Committee in Denmark in letters to President Obama and other US and Iraqi officials vehemently condemned the Iraqi government's decision to storm the Camp and called on them to prevent this.

The above mentioned committees in their letters reminded the US of its responsibility to protect the unarmed Ashraf residents. They reiterated that suppressing the main Iranian opposition is the demand of mullahs' Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei's. On February 28, he called on Iraqi authorities to fulfill their obligation by implementing the "bilateral agreement" to suppress and expel Ashraf residents.
