Iraq prevents return of T-walls to Camp Liberty, paves way for more casualties

Iranian regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, through the commander of its Quds Force has ordered al-Maliki, to assist groups affiliated with the Iranian regime to attack the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK)
U.S. Embassy warns of attacks similar to February 9 at any time
During U.S. forces’ presence in Liberty, containers were protected by 17,500 T-walls, now completely removed by Iraqi forces

NCRI- The Government of Iraq is not allowing any T-wall to enter Camp Liberty, a former US military base, for the protection of resident as the Iranian regime and its elements in Iraq continue to threaten the residents with more attacks.

Thirty-four days after deadly missile attack on Camp Liberty, despite repeated requests, referrals and correspondence by residents and their representatives to U.S., Iraqi and UN officials, The Government of Iraq is opposing the return of T-walls.

Prior to the handing over the camp to Iraqis, the American forces have been using The T-walls in Camp Liberty to provide protection against rocket and mortar attacks for their personnel in the camp’s container housings units.

As the residents began to move to Camp Liberty in February 2012 and in subsequent weeks, Iraqi forces working round the clock and using several cranes expeditiously removed 17,500 T-walls from Camp Liberty, despite protests by the residents. As a result the vulnerable housing units do not have any protective shields against attacks.

According to UNAMI military experts, since residents are always in the containers, the only measure that may reduce the number of casualties in a rocket barrage includes placing T-walls around containers.

At the same time, the Government of Iraq even has prevented the residents from transferring their protective vests and helmets from Camp Ashraf. Also they have not allowed to transfer their shovel and picks that are being used for building preliminary shelters.
The Iranian regime and its puppet regime in Iraq want to inflict more casualties on the camp residents in next attacks.

On February 11 the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad warned U.S. citizens “of continued incidents of violence in Iraq” and that “attacks similar to what occurred on February 9, may occur at any time.”

According to reports received from inside of Iran, when al-Maliki’s acting Interior Minister Adnan Assadi’s recently visited Iran, through Qassem Soleimanithe GOI and al-Maliki himself to provide groups associated with the Quds Force, such as Kataeb Hezbollah and Asaib al-Haq, with all facilities to target the PMOI in Iraq. In return, the Iranian regime has promised Maliki to give him full support to suppress the uprising of Iraqi people.

Underscoring U.S. government and UN responsibilities with regard to the safety and security of residents, the Iranian Resistance calls for the adoption of all necessary measures for the immediate transfer of all residents from Ca,p Liberty to Ashraf to prevent another massacre, and above all entry of T-walls and other protective items into Liberty.
