Iraq: Maliki’s forces intensify pressure on Camp Liberty residents, after Ashraf massacre

NCRI – Following the massacre and mass executions at Camp Ashraf, agents of Nouri al-Maliki have intensified their suppressive and anti-human treatment of Liberty residents.Sadeq Mohammad Kazem, Ahmad Khuzayr, and Heydar Azab, three agents of the Prime Ministry who were among the perpetrators of the massacres at Camp Ashraf are in charge of this atrocious policy.

Ahmad Khuzayr and Heydar Azab had active roles in the September 1 massacre at Ashraf. Heydar and Sadeq are summoned by a Spanish National Court for crimes against world community.

– Forces affiliated to the Iraqi Prime Ministry, at the order of Ahmad Khuzayr, go on top of the entrance walls of the camp and in an illegal and provocative act, take films and pictures of the residents and various locations, especially of those residents who are on hunger strike inside the camp, in order to use the pictures and films in their subsequent suppressive acts.

– On the night of Monday, October 7, two agents of the Iraqi Prime Ministry started throwing rocks at the gathering location of the hunger strikers. These actions are similar to the abusive treatment by Ahmad Khuzayr during the last 4 years, aimed at setting the stage for aggression and attack against the residents.
– Under the pretense of checking and inspecting, Ahmad Khuzayr prevented entry of foodstuff that the residents had purchased.

– On October 7, he prevented the waste removal truck that was hired by the residents from entering the camp and did not allow removal of the trash.

– On October 8, Ahmad Khuzayr, at the order the Iraqi Prime Ministry, prevented entry of 4 Iraqi businessmen who had gone to Liberty to discuss purchase of some of the residents’ properties at Ashraf.

On October 8, Ahmad Khuzayr prevented arrival of many of the residents’ logistical items such as the vehicles’ parts, repair tools, and other necessary items purchased by the residents.
