Iraq forces refuse to return bodies of victims to torture Camp Liberty residents

NCRI – Twenty six days after the criminal missile attack on Liberty, the Iraqi forces refuse to deliver the bodies of the victims for funeral, and daily and continuous follow ups of the residents through UN, US and Iraqi officials have gone nowhere.

This un-Islamic and inhumane measure that is carried out by the order of the Iraqi Prime Minister’s office is intended for psychological torture and persecution of the residents. In another inhumane act, the Iraqi government so far (March 6, 2013) has prevented the entry of protective concrete T-walls.

When the camp was under the US control, these T-walls were set up to protect against rocket and mortar attacks. But after the transfer of residents from Camp , on the order of Iraqi Prime Minister’s office and despite objection of residents, these T-walls were removed.

The Iraqi government also prevents the transfer of helmets and protective vests from Ashraf to Liberty. These helmets and vests were recognized as civil defensive gears when the Americans were protecting Ashraf.

The Iraqi forces have so far refused to allow the transfer of residents-owned cranes and flat trailers from Ashraf to Liberty for moving and for making trenches, and the entry of gunny sacks, shovels and picks to build basic shelters in Liberty.
