Iran: Mullahs’ foreign ministry unveils plot to expel and extradite Ashraf residents

Achraf, la porte des Lions, entrée principaleNCRI – Spokesman of the Iranian regime’s foreign ministry, Ramin Mehmanparast, officially announced today that the regime has been after the expulsion of the PMOI members from Iran and expressed hope that “the criminal members of the PMOI would be handed over to Iran.” He made the revelation in a pre-planned question and answer session while the agents of the regime in Iraq have been speaking about the arrest and extradition of Ashraf residents and officials of the PMOI for the past few weeks.

During the session, a reporter of Mehr news agency affiliated to the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) asked: “There are more than 100 members of the PMOI who on the INTERPOL’s wanted list and they are now in Iraq right. Has Iran demanded their extradition?” Mehmanparast replied: “The documents related to their crimes have been provided to the international organizations including INTERPOL … We are seeking the expulsion of the PMOI from Iraq… We hope that the criminal members of the PMOI would be handed over to Iran… The neighboring countries must take advantage of their capacities to expand their relations and the presence of the PMOI in these countries damages the relations…” (Mehr news agency, August 10, 2010).

In response to another question by the same agency about the possibility of transferring the PMOI members to Saudi border, he said: “Where and how they would be transferred, or how much the international community would cooperate must be followed up.”

The Iranian Resistance had already warned a number of times about the forcible displacement of Ashraf residents and illegal arrest warrants and summons to courts based on extradition requests by the clerical regime, noting that the regime aims to launch another bloodbath in Camp Ashraf to massacre its residents. The regime is seeking to carry out its ominous plans to destroy Ashraf in the current political uncertainty in Iraq while the present Iraqi government is in power and also take full advantage of the lack of presence of American forces and UNAMI's observer team in Ashraf.

As the Iranian regime is publicly and officially talking about its ominous plans for expulsion, extradition and displacement of Ashraf residents to southern Iraqi desert lands, the Iranian Resistance calls on the US Government to redeploy its forces to Ashraf to protect its residents and calls on UNAMI to return its observer team to Ashraf to prevent another human catastrophe in Ashraf. The demands are based on international obligations of the U.S. and its bilateral agreements with every individual resident in Ashraf.
