NCRI – The Iranian regime's judiciary reaffirmed the death sentence for Mr. Mohammad Ali Haj-Aqai, 62, on the charges of Mohareb (waging war against God) and supporting the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK). He was arrested on September 18, 2009 and was condemned to death in a kangaroo court.
On April 29, the mullahs' judiciary confirmed the death sentence of another political prisoner, Mr. Jaffar Kazemi, 47, on the charges of Mohareb and "propaganda against the system through cooperating with the opposition groups." His only crime is that his son is in Camp Ashraf.
The mullahs' henchmen have pressured Haj-Aqai and Kazemi to take part in show trials and make forced confessions. After the failure of their attempts, the prisoners' death sentences were reaffirmed.
Mrs. Farah (Almira) Wazehan, Messrs. Mohammad Ali Saremi, Mohsen Danesh-pour Moghadam and his son Ahmad, are among other political prisoners who have been condemned to death for having relatives in Camp Ashraf.
The death sentences are endorsed at the time when for the past eight months Iranian regime's Ministry of Intelligence and Security and the terrorist Quds force, in conjunction with the Iraqi government and forces, have stationed a number their agents posing as members of families of Ashraf residents at the entrance of the camp to put the residents under psychological torture.
The Iranian Resistance draws the attention of the UN Secretary General, all human rights organizations particularly the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and special rapporteurs on arbitrary arrests, torture and execution to condemn the inhumane sentences and take immediate binding measures to prevent the execution of political prisoners and members of families of Ashraf residents.
