Families of P.M.O.I sympathizers arrested and transferred to Evin prison

NCRI – Sunday morning, May 1, the clerical regime’s intelligence agents brutally attacked the residence of families and relatives of the martyrs of the April 8th deadly attack on Ashraf, arresting  and transferring a number of them to Ward 209 of the notorious Evin prison.

Names of eight of those arrested are as follows:

– Mr. Mahmood Azimi one of the Mojahedin political prisoners in the 80’s, his two    children reside in Ashraf and Nastaran Azimi one of the women who was martyred in the April 8 attack was his niece.

– Ms. Aria Haeri, her son and brother in law are in Ashraf. Her husband Mashallah Haeri has been imprisoned since 2009 for supporting PMOI. He was charged with “Moharebeh”,( Waging war on God), and convicted to 15 years of imprisonment and exile.  He is critically ill and lack of proper care in prison has worsened his condition.

– Ms. Negar Haeri, daughter of Aria Haeri whose brother and uncle are in Ashraf.

– Mr.  Hussein Haj Aghaei, the son of Mr. Mohamad Haj Aghaei executed in January 2011 at the order of Khamenei.
– Mr. Nasser Sodagari, one of the Mojahedin political prisoners in the 80’s. Prior to this he was arrested for participating in the memorial services at Khavaran Cemetery commemorating those massacred in 1988.

– Tahereh and Pouyan Sodagari, wife and son to Mr. Nasser Sodagari.

– Ms Sedigheh Moradi, 50 years old, one of the Mojahedin political prisoners in the 80’s who has suffered four years of imprisonment for supporting PMOI.

Arbitrary arrests of the families of residents of Ashraf and supporters of PMOI by the clerical regime more than anything shows the growing support amongst the Iranian people for the Mojahedin and their hate towards the criminal regime and the puppet government and their agents in Iraq.

The Iranian resistance calls on all public authorities, international human rights organizations, the High Commissioner for Human Rights and Special Rapporteurs on arbitrary arrests to take urgent action to end the suppression of the PMOI families, and the release of all political prisoners.
