Bombing plot near location of reporters intending to visit Camp Ashraf

Forcible displacement of Ashraf residents – No 3

Propaganda by ruling mullahs in Iran aims to cover up regime role in Baghdad blasts

NCRI – As the Iranian people’s uprising rings the death knell of the religious fascism ruling Iran, the clerical regime has intensified pressures on the Iraqi government to forcibly displace residents of Camp Ashraf.

After a year of media ban on Ashraf, an Iraqi government spokesperson last week invited reporters to visit Ashraf on December 15 during a media tour orchestrated by the government in order to produce reports and video footage of measures being enacted by the committee responsible for closing Ashraf and displacing its residents.

Now after today’s blasts in Baghdad, one of which has reportedly occurred near the particular location reporters had gathered, the clerical regime has in a disgraceful attempt immediately put the blame on the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) for the bombings, claiming that “perhaps the blasts were a warning to reporters that they should refrain from reporting on the displacement of the PMOI from their base.”

There is no doubt that the abhorrent bombing near the reporters was orchestrated by the clerical regime and its terrorist Quds Force. But in order to cover up its own role and in a futile attempt, the regime tries to blame  the PMOI for this terrorist crime.

As reiterated in the NCRI Secretariat’s statement on December 8, the Iranian Resistance has credible documents and evidence from inside the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the terrorist Quds Force, indicating the Iranian regime and its agents are responsible for previous bombings in Iraq and supply explosives and weapons for such acts. These documents show that the Iraqi government is completely aware of the Iranian regime’s role, but some Iraqi officials deliberately deny this fact and deceive public opinion about the main source of terrorism and insecurity in Iraq.
