Agents of terrorist Quds force and mullahs’ intelligence attack Ashraf residents

Nine agents of the Iranian regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) and terrorist Quds force as well as hired agents of the regime were dispatched from Baghdad to Camp Ashraf to harass and intimidate the residents with the backing of Iraqi forces early Monday afternoon.

The MOIS agents  included Mohammad Karim Fanoudi, Mohammad Akbarzadeh, Abdolkarim Ebrahimi,  Hassan Sharghi, Ghorbanali Hosseinejad and Maryam Mortezai Sanjabi.

These agents, escorted by Iraqi forces, were taken to Mo’in complex which has been under Iraqi forces’ occupation since the massacre of Ashraf residents in April 2011. They set up stage managed shows and took photographs and films. They later went to Laleh Square within Ashraf with the help of Iraqi forces where they started pelting rocks at residents. During this assault one of the residents, Hassan Jabbari, suffered injuries on his head and neck. (See attached photo)

Fanoudi and Akbarzadeh, who have been engaged in persecution and psychological torture of Ashraf residents for the past three years, were among the same group of MOIS agents who attacked the cargo trucks in the seventh convoy of residents going from Ashraf to Camp Liberty on September 16, 2012. They were backed by Iraqi Sergeant Ahmad Khadhran and Captain Heidar Azab who were involved in massacres of Ashraf residents in 2009 and 2012. They tried to kidnap Ashraf residents who accompanied these trucks by attacking them with rocks, sticks and iron bars and forcing them to get off the trucks. Ten residents were beaten in this attack some of whom had to be taken to hospital for treatment.

In a statement on September 16, the Iranian Resistance called for arrest and punishment of those responsible for the attack and its perpetrators and requested explanation from the UNAMI and the UN Secretary General’s Special Representative. It also called on the UN Secretary General to appoint a competent representative to investigate the terrorist assault.

The Iranian Resistance emphasized that silence and inaction on behalf of the UNAMI vis-à-vis the terrorist incident on September 16 has emboldened the regime and its agents to continue with such measures and called on Secretary General and the US Government to take urgent measures to stop these incidents.
