The Supreme Leader is system’s indicator and no one, even the elected president, can take a stand against him
NCRI – Ahmad Khatami, a leading member of Assembly of Experts, acknowledged regime’s critical situation and in an unusual and idiotic remark said: “Despite all difficulties, the Islamic Republic system is not about to crumble… Iran is experiencing problems in the economic realm as well as some other domains, but this is not as severe and difficult as some satellite networks or presidential candidates have conceded.”
Accentuating that “Rouhani’s (clerical regime’s new president) positions in the news conference were sound”, he said: “Velayat-e faqih… is system’s indicator and no one, even the elected president, can take a stand against him… those who take stances against the leadership of the Islamic community should await the consequences of their stances from the people.” (IRGC news agency of Fars, 27 June 2013)
Previously, in a similar statement, the Motalefeh faction had described the government of Hassan Rouhani as the “most vulnerable government” of the clerical regime and warned Rouhani that if he makes a mistake in choosing his ministers, he would face the ire of the Supreme Leader and rival faction.
The state-run daily Ressalat wrote: If the ministers introduced by Rouhani’s government are not thoughtfully and carefully picked, this government would get its first “No” from parliament and this “No” may act as a green light to bring pressure to bear on the nascent government in all aspects. The path of Rouhani’s government is broad slogan-wise, but quite tight practically and extremists are poised to act. Therefore, before beginning the official work of his government, Rouhani should place “engineering of requisites” and “management of expectations and understandings” on his mandate (Ressalat – June 25)
