Rebellious Prisoner Mostafa Salimi Hanged in Saqqez
Mostafa Salimi

Imprisoned for 17 years, this morning, Mostafa Salimi was hanged in Saqqez Prison by the mullahs’ criminal regime.

Salimi was arrested in 2003 and sentenced to 15 years in prison and execution. He escaped during the Saqqez prison rebellion on March 27, 2020, along with a large number of other prisoners. He was arrested a few days later and hanged this morning in Saqqez Prison.

The Iranian Resistance offers its condolences to the relatives and friends of Mostafa Salimi and the people of Saqqez. It urges the United Nation’s High Commissioner for Human Rights and the relevant rapporteurs as well as international human rights organizations to condemn this heinous execution.

Also in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak, the Iranian Resistance calls for immediate action by the UN Security Council, the European Union, and member states to force the clerical regime to release prisoners, especially political prisoners to prevent a major humanitarian catastrophe, These prisoners are at risk of contracting Coronavirus on the one hand, and being tortured and executed by the clerical regime on the other.
