Presence of a 4-member team of the Iranian regime Embassy’s mercenaries during inspection of Ashraf residents and their belongings for their transfer to Liberty

The United States and United Nations must force Iraq to end the presence of the Iranian regime’s agents in Ashraf and Liberty

NCRI – According to credible reports received from inside Iran, a 4-member team of the mullahs’ regime Intelligence and Quds Force from the regime’s Embassy in Baghdad have been present during the inspection of four groups of Ashraf residents who have been transferred to Camp Liberty since February.

Based on this shocking news, that the Iranian resistance has its details, this 4-member team who was present in past several days in Ashraf including during the inspection of residents and their belongings, provide necessary guidance for tightening the inspection and preventing transfer of some of the residents’ property, to the Iranian Embassy in Baghdad, the Ashraf suppression committee in Prime Minister Office and Sadeq Mohammad Kazem.

This 4-member team has been stationed in Ashraf since a long time ago to control and direct activities in front of and around Ashraf against Mojahedin and to direct agents who are dispatched to Ashraf under the banner of families from Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and launching ludicrous shows of employed Iraqi agents against the residents. In order not to be identified, they use sunglasses and nicknames. After the start of transfer of residents from Ashraf to Liberty, they moved with Sadeq to Liberty and have been stationed close to his place. However with the transfer of every new group of residents, they go to Ashraf and return to Liberty after the end of the work.

In another development, on Sunday during the transfer of fourth group, a number of Intelligence agents who have been stationed in Ashraf for more than two years as family members, went on top of monitoring towers that apparently have been installed to protect the residents, and displayed banners against them while identifying the residents. Strong protest by the residents against obvious cooperation of Iraqi forces and the mullahs’ intelligence agents, in front of UNAMI representatives, led to bringing down of these agents by the Iraqi officers.

The presence of MOIS and Quds Force in and around Ashraf and Liberty and their presence during inspection of the residents is a violation of agreements between the Iraqi government and the UN, violates the refugee law and endangers safety and security of PMOI members and their families inside Iran.

The Iranian Resistance therefore strongly urges the US government and the United Nations to force the Iraqi government to stop this criminal violation of the law and to end the presence of formal and informal agents of the mullahs’ regime in and around the camps Ashraf and Liberty immediately.
