Mojahedin members Hossein Ahmadi and Morteza Beheshti died in Baquba

Camp Ashraf military occupation- No. 33

NCRI – Two of the residents who were injured and subsequently kidnapped by Maliki’s criminal forces on Friday April 8, lost their lives in Baquba hospital. They were identified as Hossein Ahmadi Jayhoon Abadi and Morteza Beheshti.

In the early hours of Friday April 8, the two residents who were seriously injured were subsequently kidnapped by suppressive Iraqi forces and after hours of delay were transported to Baquba hospital. The delay in transporting the wounded to the hospital and inadequate care led to their deaths.

Hossein Ahmadi   was one of the Mojahedin members who were taken hostage two years ago during the July 2009 attacks by the Iraqi forces on camp Ashraf. After 72-day hunger strike, while a few steps away from death, they were returned to camp Ashraf with the rest of the hostages.

The criminal behavior of the government and the forces under the order of Maleki with the injured residents is another example of war crimes and crimes against humanity and those responsible must be tried and punished.

As the Iranian Resistance has repeatedly declared in the last two days most of the 300 residents, who have been injured, are in critical condition and if the United States forces do not accept the responsibility of transporting and treating them most of them will die.

Considering that the United States forces have signed an agreement with every single resident guaranteeing their safety; the responsibility for the lives of the injured residents falls upon the United States due to the commitments towards the protection of Ashraf residents.
