Maryam Rajavi calls on Iranians to rescue and help earthquake stricken people

Urgent call by Mrs. Rajavi to the young people of Bushehr and neighboring provinces to help rescue the victims of earthquake and survivors under rubble

Dispatch of suppressive forces to the region to prevent publication of true statistics of casualties and damages

NCRI – Following the earthquake in Bushehr, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, sent her condolences to the bereaved families and wished speedy recovery of the injured. She called on people especially youth of Bushehr and neighboring provinces to immediately come to the rescue of people who are under the rubble.

She pointed out that before any aid, the regime uses its repressive forces to control and repress people and victims of the earthquake and said: As previously experienced, it is people’s aids that has been effective in saving the lives of those under rubble and helping injured and homeless survivors.

The occurrence of the earthquake with its epicenter 70 kilometers away from the Bushehr nuclear power plant once again highlights the great danger and risk of disaster these facilities pose to the lives of millions of people in southern Iranian provinces and neighboring countries.

On Tuesday afternoon of April 9th, eight consecutive earthquakes struck the port of Bushehr and nearby cities. The mullahs’ regime has cut off the mobile phone lines to the area to prevent spread of the news on true casualties and damages. According to the news received, many villages in the region have been destroyed and due to lack of immediate aid from the government, the number of casualties and death is on the rise.
