Iranian Resistance calls on UNHRC to refer mullahs dossier to UN Security Council

NCRI – The United Nations Human Rights Council adopted a resolution on Friday extending the mandate of Mr. Ahmad Shaheed, Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran for one year.

The resolution deplored the Iranian regime’s failure to implement Human Rights Council and UN General Assembly resolutions regarding the human rights situation in Iran and expressed serious concerns for not permitting access to the country by the Special Rapporteur.

The Iranian Resistance, welcomed the adoption of the Human Rights Council resolution and once again stressed that the adoption of such resolutions, although valuable, are not enough as
the gallows, torture, amputation and eye gouging are rampant in prisons and streets in various cities across Iran, while Iranian youths are being arrested and killed simply because of expressing their opinion on their blogs, and while thousands of students, women, laborers, reporters and intellectuals are in the worst conditions in the regime’s prisons and under suppression.

The Iranian people and Resistance demand that the dossier on flagrant and persistent human rights violation in Iran be referred to the UN Security Council and the Iranian regime’s leaders and officials be prosecuted in international courts for crimes against humanity.
