During ten days of the uprising, the Southwestern province of Khuzestan and city of Ahvaz were host to the popular demonstrations and protests against the religious fascism ruling Iran. During this period, hundreds of youths in Ahvaz, Hamidieh and Shadegan and other cities in the province were arrested by the Revolutionary Guards and other repressive forces.

On Saturday night, January 6th, on the tenth day of the uprising, the people and the brave youths of various part of Ahvaz rallied. They protested the brutal repression of the uprising and the arrest of a large number of people.

In Kiashahr district, a large crowd gathered in front of the governorate and chanted “political prisoners must be freed.” In Kian Shahr too, people protested chanting “Death to Dictator” and “Death to Khamenei.” The rally turned into clashes when the suppressive forces attacked the demonstrators brutally.

At the same time, in the Kut Abdullah district, IRGC and Bassij forces attacked the demonstrators; however, the youth confronted them and punished a number of suppressive forces.

On Friday night, the courageous demonstration of the Ahvaz people in Kouye Alawi led to heavy clashes with the IRGC and the Basiji forces and the riot guards. In this clash, which lasted from 22:00 to 01:30 in the morning, the Bassij headquarters was burnt down, and the people punished a number of savage IRGC forces and forced others to retreat.
