Iran: Oil, Gas, Petrochemical, And Power Plants Contract Workers Strike For 26th Day Running

The strike expands to 105 refineries, complexes

and companies in 35 cities

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi saluted the striking workers and said: The continuation and expansion of strikes and protests signal the public’s resolve to overthrow the clerical anti-labor regime, which is the main cause of poverty, inflation, and unemployment

The nationwide strike by the contract workers of the oil, gas, petrochemical, and power plants in protest of low wages and difficult and challenging working and living conditions continued for the 26th day running. Despite the regime threatening the workers and making hollow promises to them, the strikes, which started on June 21, have spread to 105 refineries, companies, and industrial complexes in 35 cities across Iran, including, Gachsaran, Behbahan, Bushehr, Asaluyeh, Qeshm, Tehran, Arak, Abadan, Kangan, Kharg, Isfahan, Mahshahr, Bandar Abbas, Ahvaz, Damavand, Kerman, Ilam, Sirjan, Dehloran, Jask, Lordegan, Lamerd, Andimeshk, Ardabil, Minab, Astara, Zahedan, Iranshahr, Chabahar, Mashhad, Jahrom, Kazerun, Dashte Azadeghan (Jofeyr), Isfahan and Firuzabad.

Thousands of contract workers are now on strike in more than 105 refineries, companies, and industrial complexes affiliated with the oil, gas, petrochemical, and power plants, including Bidboland refinery, Behbahan, Phase 2, South Pars Phase 14 Omran-e Sana’t, Asaluyeh Petrochemical, Exir Sana’t Phase 14, South Pars Oil and Gas Companies, Asaluyeh Gas Field, Jahan Pars Petrochemical Company of Tehran, Overhaul of Tehran Oil Refinery, South Adish Refinery of Tehran, Tondguvan Refinery of Tehran, all of the workers of phases 11, 12, 13 and 14, and contract workers of other 24 phases of Asaluyeh, Abadan Refinery, Bidkhun Refinery of Asaluyeh, Marine Operations Iran – Kharg, Ramin power plant staff in Ahvaz city, overhaul 15 and 16 of Bushehr Province, Jahan Pars Ilam, Dehloran NGL3100 gas refinery, Lordegan petrochemical, Parsian Lamerd gas refinery, Ahvaz Jofeyr refinery, and ODCC Abadan refinery.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, The President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), saluted the striking workers who are in their fourth week of the strike and said: The continuation and expansion of strikes and protests by workers and laborers indicate the public’s resolve to overthrow the anti-labor clerical regime. This regime is the main cause of poverty, inflation, and unemployment due to systematic corruption, plundering and wasting public wealth and resources on inciting war, exporting terrorism, and pursuing unpatriotic nuclear and missile projects.
